A Balkan breakfast
The day starts generously — homemade pite (savoury filled pastry) and warm uštipci (fried dough), cured meats and mountain cheeses, omelettes and sausages. Just the fuel you need before a descent down the Tara.

Many guests come back for the river — and for what's waiting when they get off the water. We cook from the heart, with ingredients from farms nearby.
Food here is part of the experience, not an afterthought.
In the Konak kitchen everything starts with the ingredient. Meat comes from farms nearby, vegetables from the gardens around us, and the kajmak and cheese are homemade, from mountain villages close by. We put on the table what is healthy and raised without rush — the way food used to be. For guests who don't eat meat we prepare vegetarian and vegan dishes; just let us know in advance.
And before anything else — every guest is welcomed with a shot of rakija (homemade fruit brandy). That's simply how we do things here.
Our cooking is home cooking, the kind you remember from a village kitchen. We don't invent things — we make what we know, with ingredients from the area.
Veal cooked under the sač (a traditional iron bell) from local calves, a creamy soup, homemade bread and fresh salads from the gardens nearby. The kajmak and cheese are homemade, from mountain villages close by. Home-baked desserts from old recipes to finish.
